Japan's Pacific Campaign (Blog #35)

Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and brought the United States into World War II. WWII established the United States as a leading player in international affairs.

1.) Specifically summarize the fighting in the Pacific between December 1941 and April 1942.

December 7, 1941: Pearl Harbor was bombed (Day of Infamy). 19 ships sunk or damaged within two hours. More than 2,300 Americans killd and over 1,100 wounded. January 1942, Japanese invaded Manila, Philippine where they fought with American and Filipino troops for the Bataan Peninsula. Japanese seized Hong Kong from British.

1) On December 7, 1941 the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, where within two hours 19 ships were sunk or damaged. At about the same time the Japanese launched bombing raids on the British colony of Hong Kong and Guam and Wake Island. They also landed an invasion force in Thailand.By February 1942, they reached Singapore. Within a month, they conquered the resource-rich Dutch East Indies, now Indonesia. In April 1942, 16 B-25's bombed Tokyo and other Japanese cities.

On December 7 Janpan bombed Pearl Harbor and shortly afterwards they launched bombing raids on British colonies. They took Guam and Wake Island with ease and started to move towards other islands. Japan was soon tryin to take over the whole Pacific. Conquering every island owned by the U.S. or Britian.

december 7th 1941 in the morning the American soldiers at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii awoke to explosives. Within 2 hours the Japanese had sunk or damaged 19 ships including 8 battle ships. more than 2300 Americans were killed. Almost at the same time that the Japanese attached pearl harbor they had a bombing raid in the British colony of HOng Kong and Guan and also Wake island.

in december 7 1941 pearl harbor was attack and there was thousand of people being killed and it was to horride to watch america got tick off so they fought. after that japan invaded and got hong kong from britin.

december 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy, was just another step in the japinese raid of the pacific islands.japan tried to conqour the wold by gaining contorl of the pacific and evenutally working through north america and the USA. they hit the philappians in 1942.
